ABOUT

Hi, I'm Lisa. I live in Brooklyn, New York, and I do web production work for an environmental nonprofit organization. Also, I'm a freelance photographer.

I spent part of my childhood in a small North Carolina town that had no stoplight. Incidentally, there's a stoplight there now (as of a few years ago), an event that made the local news. I moved to Raleigh in 1993 to go to school, and that's where I stayed for the following nine years, apart from brief moves to France, the UK, and Germany. (In France, I studied; in the UK, I worked; and in Germany, I did both.) I moved to New York in August 2002, which turned out to be a good idea.

The line between work and free time is kind of fuzzy. I take pictures, write, build websites, and make short movies. I usually keep several projects going at once, since I haven't yet figured out how to combine all of the things I like to do into one big project. In a way, this site is an attempt at doing that.

What else? I like giving directions to lost strangers, and I'm always tempted to follow them to make sure they arrive okay. I like music and pictures, bikes and trains. I appreciate new experiences and am rarely bored. (At least I think that's true.)
